Cathy Butterworth
Therapist
I am a BACP-registered Psychotherapist & Counsellor, offering a grounding space to help you make sense of your experiences and your relationship with yourself and others.
My approach is rooted in existential and relational psychotherapy. I believe in working collaboratively, at your pace, to help you feel heard, reflect deeply, and begin to understand yourself in new ways. My aim is to support you in becoming an active agent of change in your own life. I co-founded Hara House with the aim of creating a collaborative space for therapists working with both mind and body.
Areas of Interest
I’m particularly interested in the behavioural and relational patterns that can quietly shape how we move through the world. I work with individuals facing a wide range of issues, including anxiety, identity, relationships, loss, and life transitions.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 25 years in the fashion industry, including 13 years running my own business. This gives me a lived understanding of high-pressure, fast-paced environments and the toll they can take on wellbeing. It also informs my work with clients navigating questions of self-worth, performance, identity, and purpose.
